一只小兔子准备要上床睡觉，随着夜色更深，房间更暗，他向周围每一样东西道晚安。一开始，时钟指着七点，但是小兔似乎还不甘心入眠，他环顾四周，然后他看到墙上的图画，房里还有其它东西，想必在生活中息息相关，以致他在睡前依依不舍。睡觉是一种短暂的告别，因着身体的休息，所有的感官必须与周遭事物暂时分开一下，于是在意识渐渐模糊中，他向着房间里的这个那个，一一道别，而房间里的光线也随着他的神志不清而逐渐昏暗。万籁俱寂，小兔安心的睡着，壁炉的火还在燃烧，小玩具屋的灯还亮着。好象留下对明天的期待和盼望。
